Chuck Fleischmann, a current U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 3rd district, shared messages invoking themes of faith and commemoration through social media posts during the Easter period. His statements reflect the observance and acknowledgment of significant religious events and figures.

On April 20, 2025, he quoted a passage from the book of Matthew, “The angel said, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead.’” - Matthew 28:5-7. This passage reflects the biblical account of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Later on April 20, 2025, Fleischmann shared a message referencing 1 Peter, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." - 1 Peter 1:3. He concluded the tweet with a personal note, "Brenda and I wish everyone throughout East Tennessee a happy and blessed Easter!"

On April 21, 2025, Fleischmann expressed condolence on social media regarding the death of Pope Francis, stating, "Brenda and I are saddened to hear of Pope Francis’ death but have hope, knowing he is with our savior, Jesus Christ. We join millions of people in Tennessee, America, and globally, praying for Pope Francis’ eternal soul during this time of mourning and remembrance." In this message, he acknowledged the Pope's passing while invoking hope in religious faith.

Chuck Fleischmann has been serving in the U.S. Congress for the state of Tennessee’s 3rd district since 2011, having succeeded Zach Wamp. Born in New York City in 1962, the Congressman resides in Chattanooga and possesses academic credentials from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Tennessee.
