Chuck Fleischmann, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 3rd district since 2011, has been vocal about the importance of nuclear energy in America's future. Born in New York City in 1962 and currently residing in Chattanooga, Fleischmann holds degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Tennessee.

On March 6, 2025, Fleischmann expressed his views on Twitter regarding the necessity of nuclear energy for America's future. He stated that "Nuclear energy is the key to meeting America's future energy needs. Without new nuclear power, we cannot unleash American innovation and continue cutting-edge breakthroughs in revolutionary technologies like AI." He emphasized the need to expand nuclear capabilities nationwide.

Later that day, Fleischmann tweeted about a recent visit from Secretary Wright to Oak Ridge, highlighting advancements at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). On March 6, he wrote: "Last week, I welcomed @SecretaryWright to Oak Ridge to highlight the work @ORNL is doing to advance nuclear energy & breakthroughs in cutting-edge technologies like AI." He expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Secretary Wright on these initiatives.

The following day, March 7, Fleischmann praised Tennessee's leadership role in developing what he terms "America's New Nuclear Future." He tweeted: "Tennessee continues to lead the way in creating America's New Nuclear Future that will power our nation through the 21st Century." He predicted East Tennessee would become known as a birthplace for American-made nuclear innovations.
