On January 22, 2025, Fleischmann announced his intentions to vote for the final passage of the Laken Riley Act. He stated: "I'm headed to the House Floor to vote for the final passage of the Laken Riley Act. Once we pass this critical bill today, it will head to President Trump's desk for his signature to become the law of the land. Conservatives will always fight for border security."

Later that day, he reported that the bill had passed in the House of Representatives: "The Laken Riley Act just passed the House! Next stop - President Trump's desk for him to sign into law." This indicates progress toward enactment pending presidential approval.

On January 23, 2025, Fleischmann commented on cabinet confirmations under President Trump’s administration. He emphasized urgency in this process by saying: "Every member of President Trump’s Cabinet must be confirmed quickly. President Trump won a clear mandate to lead America and deserves a Cabinet that will serve our nation well and carry out his agenda."
