The Belmont men's golf team is in 10th place after round one of the Sea Palms Invitational hosted by Western Carolina in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
In Thursday's first round, the Bruins carded a two-under par 286 to finish the day in 10th place. Davidson and Wright State are tied for the tournament lead at 271. UCF is in third at 273.
Belmont is led by graduate student Joe Bultman. The Kansas native shot a three-under par 68 to finish the round in a tie for 13th place. He is four shots back on the individual leader, Markus Braadlie of UCF (64).
Bultman's round of 68 included four birdies on the front nine and one birdie and two bogeys on the back nine. It was Bultman's second lowest round of the season.
Sophomore Michael Senn is three shots back of Bultman and in a tie for 42nd place after posting an even par71.
Freshman Jack Schoenberger carded a one-over par 72 and is in a tie for 51st place.
Graduate student Jack Bergstrom is tied for 85th place at 75, while junior Reeve Felner is in a tie for 94th place at 76.
Senior Alex Whitehead, competing as an individual, is in a tie for 112th place at 79.
