Chuck Fleischmann, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 3rd district since 2011, has shared his views on immigration reform and border security through a series of tweets. Born in New York City in 1962 and currently residing in Chattanooga, Fleischmann holds degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Tennessee.
On March 5, 2025, Fleischmann expressed support for the Laken Riley Act via Twitter. He stated that "The Laken Riley Act is one of the most commonsense immigration reforms Congress has passed in decades." According to him, this legislation provides law enforcement with necessary tools to prevent tragedies similar to Laken Riley's murder by an undocumented immigrant.
In another tweet posted on March 5, 2025, Fleischmann declared an end to open borders policies. He asserted that "The era of open borders is over!" while thanking President Trump for his leadership against what he termed as "Democrat’s insane open border policies."
Continuing his critique of Democratic policies on March 5, 2025, Fleischmann tweeted about the need for strong borders. He emphasized that "Americans deserve better than DC Democrats" who allegedly favor open borders allowing criminal elements into the country. He reaffirmed support from House Republicans and President Trump for secure borders.
