Arness Georgetown II/Men's Basketball | Rhodes College

Rhodes Men's Basketball picked up a massive SAA win over rival Sewanee Sunday afternoon in Mallory Gymnasium! The win improves the Lynx conference record to 7-4 and they are now 2nd in the SAA.

The entire game was tightly contested with the final outcome in question until the final few seconds of the game. In the first half, the Tigers went on a 21-0 run and went into halftime with a 40-34 lead. Arness Georgetown II led the way in the offensive end for the Lynx in the half with 9 points. Jalen Essick wasn't far behind and finished the half with 7 points and 3 rebounds. Jonathan Prange gave Coach Zo excellent minutes off the bench and went into the half with 6 points. The Lynx forced 9 Tiger turnovers in the 1st half, and as they have all season, leaned on the defense to keep them in the game.

The 2nd half saw the Lynx offense come alive. Phil Dotson and Koki Wiley took over the game for the Lynx and helped them take the lead from the Tigers with 12:42 to go in the game. The Lynx would hold their lead until the final buzzer. Dotson could not be stopped and finished the game with 17 points after only having 4 in the 1st half. Wiley played like a multiple SAA POW winner and controlled almost every aspect of the game. He finished with another double-double (14 points and 14 rebounds) and also helped seal the win from the line in the final minutes. With this weekend's performance, Wiley has become the first Lynx ever in the 1,000 point, 500 rebound, and 200 assist club. Prange continued to be a weapon for the Lynx off the bench and finished with 14 points. He hit 6 clutch free throws in a row in the final 2 minutes to help secure the win. The two biggest factors in the Lynx win were their victories in the paint and bench battles. They won the paint battle 34-30 and the bench battle 38-12. Cass Ramberg provided big minutes off the bench and finished with 7 points and 6 rebounds. Each rebound came in a moment the Lynx needed it most. When the final buzzer sounded, the Lynx won 82-76.
