Chuck Fleischmann, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 3rd district since 2011, announced on July 18, 2025, that the House Appropriations Committee has advanced his Fiscal Year 2026 Energy & Water funding bill.
In a post from July 18, Fleischmann stated, “This week, @HouseAppropsGOP has been working hard to deliver fiscally responsible funding bills for the American People. I’m grateful for the strong support of my FY26 Energy & Water bill that strengthens our national security and energy independence.” He followed up by expressing anticipation for the next legislative steps: “I look forward to the next step of bringing my FY26 Energy & Water bill to the House Floor so that we can deliver on @POTUS’ and @HouseGOP’s America First Agenda to lower energy prices, strengthen our military, and invest in infrastructure while ending runaway spending.”
Later that day, Fleischmann highlighted progress on his legislation with another message: “It’s another Fleischmann Friday! This week, @HouseAppropsGOP passed my Energy & Water bill out of Committee, sending it to the House Floor for a vote so my bill can eventually become law. I hope everyone has a great weekend!”
Fleischmann succeeded Zach Wamp in Congress in 2011 and is currently serving at age 60. He was born in New York City in 1962 and resides in Chattanooga. He holds degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (BA) and the University of Tennessee (JD).
