He mentioned his involvement in the Appropriations process and receiving the Congressional Energy Engagement Icon Award. In a tweet posted on June 9, 2025, Fleischmann expressed unwavering support for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and other law enforcement agencies. He emphasized their role in community protection from criminal activities “We will always stand with ICE, CBP, and law enforcement…”.
Also on June 9, 2025, he criticized what he described as an open borders crisis over the past four years. According to him, this situation was directly created by DC Democrats and the Biden-Harris Administration. He noted that there is a demand from East Tennesseans and Americans nationwide to end open borders and illegal immigration “For the previous four years…”.
Fleischmann was born in New York City in 1962 but now resides in Chattanooga. His educational background includes a BA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign earned in 1983 and a JD from the University of Tennessee obtained in 1986.
