U.S. Congressman Chuck Fleischmann, who has represented Tennessee’s 3rd district since 2011, posted a series of messages on July 17, 2025, highlighting recent legislative actions and scientific achievements in his district.
In a post at 20:22 UTC, Fleischmann expressed support for House Republican initiatives related to cryptocurrency regulation. He wrote, “This is a great win for the American People! @HouseGOP is strengthening emerging cryptocurrency technologies, protecting consumers, and ensuring the U.S. dollar remains the foundation of the global financial system.”
Later that evening at 21:02 UTC, Fleischmann shared a link without additional commentary: “https://t.co/u95HSo8K9h”.
At 21:02 UTC on the same day, he highlighted research efforts at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), stating, “.@ORNL is doing groundbreaking work in all aspects of new nuclear, including extracting rare isotopes from spent nuclear fuel that can be used to help cure cancer! The Oak Ridge National Lab is a jewel of #TN03 and Tennessee, and I am proud to be their champion in Congress! https://t.co/sufAi7plG1”
Fleischmann’s comments come as part of his ongoing advocacy for both technological innovation and scientific research within his district. ORNL has been recognized nationally for its contributions to nuclear science and medical isotope production.
A native of New York City born in 1962 and currently residing in Chattanooga, Fleischmann holds degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (BA) and the University of Tennessee (JD). He succeeded Zach Wamp as representative for Tennessee’s 3rd congressional district in 2011.
