Fleischmann, who was born in New York City in 1962 and now resides in Chattanooga, has been actively involved in various legislative and community efforts.
On May 8, 2025, Fleischmann expressed his support for the newly elected Pope Leo XIV by stating “As a lifelong practicing Catholic, I am praying for Leo XIV, our new Pope.” He highlighted the significance of this event as “the first American Pope in history” and encouraged others to join him in prayer for the Pope’s success.
The following day, May 9, 2025, he reported on a meeting with local banking representatives via Twitter. He stated “This week, I met with @TNBankers and local banks in East Tennessee to discuss ways to strengthen and support community banks.” Emphasizing the importance of these institutions to residents of East Tennessee, he reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for their vitality.
Later that same day, Fleischmann shared an update about his recent activities through another tweet. He described it as “It’s Fleischmann Friday!” The post detailed his involvement in leading an Energy & Water hearing with Secretary Wright and questioning military leaders about rebuilding efforts. Additionally, he celebrated a new US-UK Trade Deal announced by President Biden.
Fleischmann graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a BA in 1983 and earned a JD from the University of Tennessee in 1986.
