Chuck Fleischmann, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 3rd district since 2011, has recently expressed his support for the HALT Fentanyl Act through a series of tweets. Fleischmann, who was born in New York City and currently resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee, shared his thoughts on the legislation aimed at combating the fentanyl crisis.

On February 6, 2025, Fleischmann tweeted about his pride in cosponsoring the HALT Fentanyl Act. He emphasized that the act “increases penalties for trafficking illegal fentanyl and gives police tools to stop the fentanyl epidemic.” He highlighted the urgency of addressing this issue by stating that “hundreds of Americans die daily due to fentanyl overdoses” and stressed the need to do everything possible to end this crisis. “I’m proud to cosponsor the HALT Fentanyl Act…”
